A New Chapter

Its been a long, long time again since my last blog...again.  The biggest news is that Aaron and I decided the drive to work every day, after nearly 3 years, was too much so, we bought a house in Tulsa. With gas prices going up and up plus wear and tear on two vehicles driving 3,000 miles each month, along with mortgage rates being so low, we decided now was the best time.  We both love the farm, but with both of us working in Tulsa and wanting to start a family in the next couple of years, staying longer would not be practical, espcially with kids in school or day care (when the time comes).  Aaron has said for a awhile now that if we decided to move, we needed to do it sooner rather than later because he does not want to be paying a mortgage when he is 70 years old.  If Aaron's grandma was still there, it would be different.  Fortunately, we have been able to save enough over the past years to make our first home our dream home.  Its plenty big and we dont see how we ever will grow out of it, which is what we wanted.  Neither one of us ever want to move again.  The location is excellent.  Across the street, are kindergarten through eigth grade and a mile away is the high school.  It's about a mile to the freeway so Aaron has easy access to his work, and it's only a few miles to my school.  Its taken a lot of trips, but we are finally all moved and are staying in our new home.  We wanted to be moved before I went back to work again so we would not have to worry about the commute from the farm.  Aaron will still go to the farm on weekends to take care of what needs to be done (and be able to walk around in his underwear without the fear of neighbors staring at his muscles, so he says).  I will go too sometimes because I just like it out there "in the country."

Update on things

This Saturday was my 27th birthday. Holy moly! 27!! It was a wonderful birthday because my mom and sister were here. We went to Tulsa and shopped and ate lunch. My good friend Kaitlin even met us for yogurt at Peachwave (sooo good). I got a cute shirt and some new sunglasses from my mom while we were shopping. THEN when we got home there were 6 roses on the table from “your wonderful husband.” I was sooo surprised.
Gma, Carl, Bernice, and Sam got here yesterday for Gma’s 80th birthday! She seemed very happy to see the farm again. I hope they can get her to leave again without too much of a fight.
Aaron and I fly out to Orlando on Saturday and will be gone a week. (He’s going for work. I’m tagging along.) I’m sort of thankful that we won’t be there when they leave. Hopefully it will make it easier on Gma too.

Goodbye Tundra

So, I felt like this was something that should be documented.  A few days ago, while Aaron’s truck was in the shop to get the recalls repaired, the service tech had a wreck!  When the shop manager called Aaron and told him, he said he thought it was totaled.  The next morning Aaron went over there and talked to them.  They gave the option of fixing it or just buying the truck from us.  Aaron felt the best thing to do was to let them buy it.  We are going to try to go as long as we can without replacing it since it’s the summer and we don’t NEED a truck for the ice and snow and because we have gma’s car.  Plus we don’t want to have to take out another loan, take the credit hit, and start all over paying on something.

I feel bad for Aaron though.  He lost his precious truck.  L

Spring Break

It's Friday of Spring Break and over 75 outside! I'm loving it. Terry and Charlie should be getting here today for a week. Carl, Bernice, and Lou will be here on Easter Sunday for 2 weeks! I can't believe they are going to try to make the trip. I hope it goes ok.

I don't blog a lot anymore because Aaron gets nervous about having info out there for anyone to read. He's so much more careful than me! :)

I can't wait for July when I'm OFF!

Snow, snow, snow

We have had sooo much snow. Last week it was officially called a BLIZZARD. Today we are getting another 8-10 inches. We have missed 6 days of school so far, and everyone is at the office going crazy with nothing to do!

Aaron and I built a snowman on Saturday. He told me my snowman making skills were terrible and took over. I told him, "uh, DUH! Arkansas doesn't GET enough snow to make snowmen!!"

Wow. It's been way tooo long.

So I passed my big test!!! It was such a relief!! I am back at work for the first time in a month and it is overwhelming, but good. It feels good to have a purpose everyday, get up, get dressed, etc.

Nothing much is new at home at the farm. Just really, really hot here right now.

I got to go to AR over my break and it was really great to see my family even if it's hard and confusing right now. So many changes.

I'm excited for Aaron's mom to be here in Sept and maybe his dad at some point too. I love visitors! :)

Well I'll try to do better about updating!
